Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today said the government will announce more measures to boost economy in the coming weeks. According to some reports, the next package may be announced for the realty sector which has been hit hardest due to current slowdown and credit crunch due to NBFC issues.

Recognising the need to boost consumption in the country, Sitharaman said the government will spend considerable amount on infra.

She said spending on the infra to be the priority of the government.


The government has announced a slew of measures to boost the economy in the last one week. Last Friday,
Sitharaman had unveiled a several measures to boost investor sentiment and prop up the banking and auto sectors. Yesterday, the Union Cabinet liberalised foreign direct investment (FDI) rules in several sectors.
