S. Jaishankar: EU’s reluctance stuck FTA talks; bloc had other priorities: EAM Jaishankar – The Economic Times Video

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar said negotiations for a free trade agreement (FTA) between India and the European Union were stuck for the last six years due to reluctance of the grouping. He asserted India has nothing in principle against free trade agreements or preferential trade agreements. Reiterating the reason behind India pulling out of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) last year, Jaishankar said it had to take the decision as its concerns were not addressed. The minister was virtually participating in the sixth edition of Mediterranean Dialogues (MED 2020) on Friday. Watch highlights from EAM Jaishankar’s remarks. (Text: PTI)
